New University

We’re in the process of transitioning to our new University site. During this transition both this site and the new one will be updated with new tutorials. If you’ve previously purchased a subscription to the Strata 3D University (before August 1, 2015) this is the site you’ll want to log into. If you’ve purchased after this date you’ll want to go to www.strata.com/university. If you’d like assistance transitioning a subscription from this site to the new University you can contact sales@strata.com.

You can purchase a subscription to the new University for just $9.95 a month, or you can save by purchasing a 12 month subscription for the price of 10 months. For just $10 more a month you can purchase a subscription to Design 3D CX and you’ll get access to the new University and Premium Support.

Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions about the Strata 3D University website – how to sign up for the University, manage your subscription, view the tutorials on iPad, change your payment method and more.

What is the Strata 3D University?

The Strata 3D University at Strata3DUniversity.com is a tutorial website with learning resources for Strata software products, primarily Design 3D.

Whether you’re an existing Strata Design 3D user, or new to 3D entirely, the Strata 3D University will help you unlock your 3D design potential.

Strata 3D University tutorials begin with the basics and progress through stunning realism, covering the gamut of 3D topics. For Design 3D CX owners and trial downloaders, this ongoing learning resource will lead you down the path to becoming a 3D design professional.

The website has more than 1000 individual tutorial videos, and more are being added regularly. A few of the tutorials are free, most require a subscription.

Can I watch the tutorials on an iPad?

Yes, now you can watch University tutorials on an iPad or iPhone without using a third-party app.

How do I subscribe?

To subscribe to the Strata 3D University, go to Strata3DUniversity.com and click on the “Sign Up Now” button. It will take you to the subscription page:

-On the first page of the registration process, you can select the subscription plan, create your user name and password, and enter a contact email address.

-Once you have completed the first page, your account has been created and you will be sent an email containing a verification code.

-You need to enter the verification code on the Strata3DUniversity form; and finish the subscription process within 30 minutes. If you can’t do this within 30 minutes, you will need to start the process over again.

-When your account is verified, you will be asked for your payment information.

-When you are finished, enjoy!

I’m trying to subscribe, but I did not get the verification code.

Subscribing to the University takes four steps. Once you fill out your user name and account details, you will be on the second step – Email Verification. An email will be sent to the email address you provided, which will contain a verification code.

Once you see the field to enter the verification code, you need to enter the code and finish the process within 30 minutes. If you don’t, you’ll need to start over.

Before you try again, you need to make sure you are going to be able to find the email. A good way to do that would be to find the first email.

Here are some instructions:

a) check junk folder locally

b) check online junk folder (many mail services screen and trap spam on the server, and this email can be viewed through their online webmail service).

If the address NEEDS to be whitelisted, it’s likely that it’s in one of those two places.

The email is plain text and the address hasn’t been used for anything else (to cause it to be flagged as a spam address).

I subscribed, but still can’t access all the tutorials.

If you have completed the subscription process as described above but still can’t access the paid tutorials, try resetting your password.

To do this, click on the Lost your password? link at the lower right of the University home page. You will be guided through resetting your password.

I’m a beginner, where should I start?

Most of the tutorials on the University are categorized by level – Introductory, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.

In addition, there is a special training track just for beginners:

FUNDAMENTALS: Design3D Basics for Users New to 3D.

This track consists of tutorials and exercises designed and organized to teach you everything you need to know, in an easy step-by-step way.

How do I update my payment information?

To change your credit card information, or otherwise update your University payment information, you’ll need to log on to your account, and then select “Update Payment Information.”

– Log-in to your account on Strata3duniversity.com

– On the right side of the webpage, click “Subscription.”

– This will give you access to your account. You can complete the process there.

This has to be done by the you, the user. We cannot access your account.

How do I cancel my subscription?

To cancel your subscription to the Strata3D University, please follow these steps:

– Log-in to your account on Strata3duniversity.com

– On the right side of the webpage, click “Subscription.”

– This will give you access to your account. You can complete the cancellation process there. This has to be done by the user. We can’t access your account, so we cannot cancel your subscription for you.

I’m not getting my University receipts.

You should be getting a monthly email receipt from PayPal. It is possible that the receipts are going into your junk/spam folder.

The best suggestions would be to:

a) check your junk/spam folder locally

b) check your online junk/spam folder (many mail services screen and trap spam on the server, and this e-mail can be viewed through their online webmail service).

The e-mail receipt will come from service@paypal.com

If the address NEEDS to be whitelisted, it’s likely that it’s in one of those two places. If you have your mail server set to delete flagged mail immediately, you may never see the email. In this case whitelisting the address will help.
